Advice and Counsel
Helping employers formulate policies and make employment decisions that minimize the risk of
lawsuits is key to our practice.
- Ensuring compliance with state and federal discrimination laws
- Counseling employers regarding hiring, firing and disciplinary decisions
- Creating handbooks and employment agreements, including non-competition and
executive compensation agreements
- Drafting anti-harassment policies and investigating harassment complaints when they arise
- Due diligence investigations prior to acquisitions
Helping employees understand their rights is another key component.
- Counseling employees regarding hiring, firing and disciplinary decisions
- Reviewing severance agreements
Trade Secrets and Covenants Not to Compete
There are times when an employer must go on the offensive and pursue employment-related legal
action. For example, when a talented manager leaves to join a competitor and takes valuable
proprietary information, we can file suit to enforce a covenant not to compete or trade secret
misappropriation claim.
